Use AI on client work, without the leak

A copy-paste kit that hides private client data before it ever reaches an AI tool. The real details never leave your machine.

Privacy-safeNo installMac · Windows · Linux

Here's the quiet problem: the moment you paste a client's real emails, phone numbers or bank details into ChatGPT or Claude, that data has left your building. For bookkeepers, VAs, consultants, clinics and anyone handling other people's information, that's a real risk. This kit fixes it. It swaps sensitive values for safe placeholders (like [EMAIL_1]) on your own computer, so you can use AI freely, then swaps the real values back into the AI's answer afterwards.

How to use it

1

Drop your text in

Put whatever you want to clean into input.txt (the kit creates it for you on first run).

2

Run it

python redact.py gives you a clean redacted.txt and a private redaction_map.json.

3

Use your AI freely

Paste redacted.txt into Claude, ChatGPT, anything. The placeholders stay meaningful, so the AI still understands the context.

4

Swap the real values back

Paste the AI's reply into ai_reply.txt, run python redact.py --restore, and restored.txt has the real details back in place.

Honest note: this is a strong first line of defence, not a legal guarantee. It catches patterns (emails, numbers, codes) reliably, but it can't reliably spot names without risking false positives, so always give redacted.txt a quick eyeball before you paste it anywhere, and keep redaction_map.json private. It's the key that un-redacts everything.
