The instruction card
Add any of these to the END of a prompt. They work in Claude and ChatGPT.
1. “Answer first.” The point lands in line one, reasons after. No warm-up paragraphs.
2. “Ask me 3 questions before you answer.” Turns a generic answer into one about YOUR business.
3. “Flag anything you guessed.” It marks its own assumptions. The most underrated line on this card.
4. “Under 150 words.” Or 50. Hard limits produce sharper thinking than 'be concise'.
5. “Give me the counter-argument.” Stops it agreeing with a bad idea just because you sounded sure.
6. “Show your working.” Ask it to list the steps it took. Wrong turns become visible.
7. “Plain English, British spelling, no hype.” Kills the press-release voice in one line.
8. “If you're not sure, say so.” The anti-hallucination line Anthropic's own team uses. Full stop, not a guess.
