The prompt, word for word
Search the public web for [YOUR BUSINESS NAME] and [YOUR NAME]. List every public listing, profile, directory entry or mention you can find, and flag anything that looks out of date or wrong.
Use a model with web search turned on. Without it you get a guess, not a search. Give it your business name AND your own name, because half of what is out there is filed under one and not the other.
What to do with the list
1. Sort it into things you control and things you do not. Your own site, you fix today. A directory someone else runs, you email.
2. Look for numbers that disagree with each other. Two of your own pages claiming different figures is the one that costs you trust.
3. Check for duplicate profiles on the same site. Search engines pick one, and it is rarely the one you would choose.
4. Fix the top three. Leave the rest. A stale listing on a site nobody visits is not worth your Tuesday.
What it usually turns up: old directory entries you never made, a location from two addresses ago, an event bio describing a job you left, and a promotion on your own homepage that ended months ago. It is rarely dramatic. It is just stale, and stale is what quietly costs you the enquiry.
