What is an Artifact?

Most people treat Claude like a chat box: ask a question, read the reply, move on. An Artifact is different. It's a live workspace that sits beside the conversation, and Claude builds a real, working thing inside it, a calculator, a form, a small app you can actually click and use.

You describe the tool in plain English. Claude builds it in front of you. You publish it, copy the link, or embed it on your website. No React, no code, no monthly subscription. You describe → Claude builds → you use it.
