My running order for business owners
1. AI Fluency for Small Businesses — 9 lessons and a quiz. It sits in a list of ten audience variants, between Nonprofits and Students, which is why almost nobody finds it. Start here.
2. Claude 101 — how to actually use the apps for everyday work. Do this even if you have used Claude for months.
3. One use case from your own department — 13 departments are covered and the prompt is already written for you. Pick yours and do a real job with it.
That is three sittings, about five hours. Skip the API, Bedrock and Vertex courses entirely unless you write code — that is 198 of the 355 lessons gone in one line.
The library is free. Your time is not.
About the certification
People ask me whether the paid certification is worth it, so here is the straight answer.
I sat Claude Certified Architect (Foundations) in May 2026 and passed with 805 out of 1000. It is a real exam: scenario-based, proctored with a camera, about a week’s wait for the result.
Two things nobody mentions. Access runs through Anthropic’s partner programme, so you cannot simply sign up as an individual. And it is not free, though partners pay half.
Is it worth it for you? If you run a business rather than build agents, almost certainly not. It is aimed at people architecting things with the SDK, Claude Code and MCP. The free courses above will do more for your actual week.
I did it because I train teams on this and I wanted to be examined on it rather than just claim it. That is a different reason from yours.
